About
Bay Area Hand Therapy is a private practice clinic that specializes in the evaluation and treatment of the hand and upper extremity. Patients receive science based individualized, one-on-one care from the same Certified Hand Therapist at every visit. This ensures consistency and a personalized treatment experience. The ultimate goal of therapy is to restore function and help patients confidently return to their daily activities, work responsibilities and recreational pursuits.

Evaluation
You will be provided with a comprehensive evaluation that includes assessment of your motion, strength, swelling, pain and if appropriate sensation.
Treatment
Based on your evaluation results you will have customized treatment that addresses your deficits. A few of the interventions provided are listed below.
Manual Treatment
- Myofascial and active release
- Joint mobilizations
- Cupping, IASTM, stretching
Modalities
- Ultrasound, paraffin, heat/cold packs
- Kinesiotaping
Exercises
- Customized exercise programs to restore strength, coordination, endurance, and functional use of the hand and upper extremity
Splinting
- Custom splint fabrication and serial casting
- Measuring for prefabricated splints and silver ring splints
The Therapist
Danielle Conroe
OTR/L, CHT
Danielle earned a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Loma Linda University in 1998. She received her credentialing to practice as a Certified Hand Therapist in 2004. She has been working in outpatient clinics that specialize in the treatment of the upper extremity for over 20 years.
Outside the clinic, Danielle values a lifestyle rooted in wellness, balance and connection. She enjoys practicing yoga, being in nature hiking and cooking fresh meals for her husband and two teenage boys.
Danielle is passionate about helping patients regain as much function as possible so they can get back to the activities they need and love.

Hands-on treatment session addressing your customized plan
Bay Area Hand Therapy accepts Medicare directly. All Medicare patients require a referral from an MD. All other insurances are self-pay.
A superbill is provided after each session for out-of-network reimbursement. HSA and FSA accounts are generally accepted.
